Claire McPhee

click for video

I was dreading this day. The day the first of Claire's 2 front teeth to came out. ( Bottom 2 have been out for a while, ias the top ones I dread. I will miss that cute smile with those little baby teeth. But Claire told me I have Lucie's teeth to look forwar to. So true.)So this thing was wiggly, and loose forever. She could push it almost all the way forward, and then it got to the point where she could even rotate it sideways, and it was still hanging in there. I cringed to look at it. She is so good about the whole thing. She laughs and takes it all in stride. I think she likes freaking me out with that crazy tooth. So when she finally decided to pull it, she just walked up to me with the tooth in hand. Done. She wouldn't let me get the actual tooth pulling on video. Afterwards we nced the permanent tooth already breaking through. It's all happening too fast!

Luau

We went to our ward party a few weeks back. I bet you can guess what the theme was. We couldn't resist busting out Claire's custom made coconut shells from Hawaii (courtesy of Uncle Craig), to put on Lucie. If there had been a costume contest, she would have won hands down. She kept it on the whole night, and also enjoyed all the polynesian music and dance. We had a great time.

Happiness

This girl makes me happy. Lucie makes us smile and laugh all the time. She is such a happy child who knows what she wants (love, food, sleep, and play). She turned 1 year old last month and has been growing and learning so much lately. She had her very own birthday cake made by her aunt bina at family camp.

Just this last week she has ventured out into the world on her own two feet. I feel happy and sad that our baby is walking. She is so proud of herself, and loves this new found freedom. I love not having to lug 25 pounds all the time, although she still is carried most of the time. (Walking pics coming soon) We love you Lucie!

Hello World

Does this really work. Chris said if I send an e-mail to this address it will magically become an entry on our family website/blog. (That has not been updated in months.)So now the mood has struck and I hope my first little attempt at entering the world of the internet and blogs is successful.

My little cutie is now a 2nd grader. Here we are on the 1st day of school which began during the heat of August. She loves school, her teacher, and has lots of friends in her class. She loves going to school and would hate to miss even if she were deathly ill. I think she gets that from me. Have a great year. Love you babe!

Halloween 08 and more...

I have added 4 new foto ablums to this blog. September was a great month of visiting friends and family and basically showing off our new baby Lucie. We also celebrated our 10yr Anniversary (and they said it wouldn't last!) by spending an evening down in Long Beach. In October we took a trip to Utah for the baby blessing of Jeremiah's (summer's brother) new baby boy, Landon Michael Bruce. Claire had a blast hanging with all her Utah cousins. Lucie continues to grow and grow...she is such a lovable little chunk.

We had a family Halloween party at our house this year. It was really fun decorating the new house and having the space to host a holiday party. The party was attended by parents, siblings, and nephew/nieces on both Chris and Summer's sides of the family. The highlight (besides the tons of awesome food we ate) was the trick or treating. In Redlands they block of one of the streets with old Historic homes and there are 1000+ kids trick or treating, plus many homes are super decorated some with mini haunted houses as you walk up. Claire was Mulan and Lucie was Mushu, (the little dragon friend of Mulan). Our sister-in-law Jenn made their costumes, she is the bomb. Hunter was Saran Wrap man, and by the end of trick-or-treating his jeans were soaked through with sweat (yeah, not the smartest costume). Good times…click on pics below for more fotos!

Claire of the Month

Yesterday our little Claire was named the student on the month at her school awards assembly. This paragraph written by Claire's teacher (Mrs. Mendoza) was read by the VP at the assembly...
"This student is a real sweetie pie! She is a quiet, confident girl who always does her best work. She is the world's neatest colorer, with penmanship better than any first grade teacher! An excellent reader, this student has already completed her first AR goal. She is a kind and good friend, who often gives up her free time to read to her tablemate who is just learning English. Our class admires the many wonderful qualities of ... CLAIRE "LE-SWEER".
Claire was surprised that her name was announced and is anxiously awaiting her trip to Shakey's Pizza (the award given to student of the month recipients). She was also recognized for earning the most points in the music program for her class.
Way to go Claire! We love our little sweetie pie!
BTW...it was "Crazy Hair Day" at her school

More Baby Lucie!

More Pictures of Baby Lucie and Family!

Well yesterday Baby Lucie turned one month old.  It has been an exciting (and crazy) month for the LeSueur family.  Lucie has quite the appetite and we are doing our best to fatten her up.  Grandpa Michael came and spent 2 weeks helping with the baby (aka holding the baby and watching the Olympics with Summer).  This past weekend Sabrina threw a great baby shower for Lucie with many family and Orange County friends in attendance.  On Labor day we spent the morning enjoying the sun at Newport Beach (don't worry Lucie was only in the sun for a minute or two).  We feel very blessed to have this sweet baby in our family.
